Debt management and mental health

Wednesday 18th June, 2008 Debt management issues

A report is being commissioned by the Finance and Leasing Association (FLA) to look at the connections between debt management and mental health issues.

The research will involve reviewing existing research, examining the social, health and economic impact of being in debt on the population. The review will also be looking at the burden in those who are in debt and are actively trying to solve their debt problems.

Debtwatchdog welcomes the review as far too often the surrounding issues of debt are ignored. Debtwatchdog knows from experience that with unmanageable debt comes stress, anxiety and the consequential influence on health, employment and the home.

Having a good debt management strategy is a sure fire way of countering the negative effects of debt. In many cases those who are most effected by their debt problems do not have any idea on how to deal with it. If you are having debt problems the first thing you should do is address the problem and not to ignore it. Browse our website for impartial information about each debt solution.
