With the burgeoning debt mountain and hike in interest rates it's no surprise that number of County Court Judgements reached a ten year high.
Recent figures, released by Registry Trust, revealed that nearly 250,0000 CCJ's (County Court Judgements) were issued in the first quarter of this year and it's projected to hit the million mark by the end off the year.
A CCJ is a court judgement to make payments to a debt owed, having failed to keep the original agreement with the lender and not made any attempts to come to an agreement of repayment.
The hike in the number CCJ's is being blamed by credit experts on the combination of the squeeze on the household purse strings as a result of interest rates being at their highest for 7 years and the lack of patience of creditors pushing debtors through the courts.
